MANAGEMENT OF DISCRETIONARY FUNDS

Preamble: From time to time HIRRA committees have access to funds raised through donations or other source and not directly allocated to the operation of the service. For example: the Recycling Program's '96 Community Quilt Fund and Recycling Video Fund and the Fire Department's Volunteer Fund.

Policy: It shall be the policy of HIRRA that such funds are held in savings accounts at the Union Bay Credit Union. Allocation of these funds shall be the responsibility of the Fire Chief, the Recycling Program Manager and the committee members of each service. The signing officers for the bank accounts shall be the Fire Chief and a committee member of the Fire Protection Services/First Responders' Program and the Recycling Manager and a Recycling Program Committee member. A statement of accounts shall be made available for review by the auditor.

In the event of a conflict between the wording of the Policy on this page and the wording of the paper copy kept in the central HIRRA file, the wording of the paper copy shall prevail.
